4 simple planting steps
Step 1: Treat the seeds
- Soak the seeds in warm water (about 40°C) for 6–8 hours to soften the shell and make it easier to germinate.
- Remove and drain before sowing.
Step 2: Soil treatment
- Use loose, well-drained soil. You can mix the soil with organic fertilizer, rice husks or coconut fiber.
- If planting in a styrofoam box/pot: make sure it has drainage holes.
- Place in a sunny place (6–8 hours/day).
Step 3: Sowing in the soil
- Sow directly into the soil, 1-2 seeds per hole, 30-40cm apart.
- Cover with a thin layer of soil, water lightly to keep moist.
- After 7-10 days, the seeds will germinate and grow true leaves.
Step 4: Care and Harvest
- Water every day in the early morning, avoid watering in the evening.
- When the tree is about 15–20cm tall, start fertilizing with organic fertilizer every 10–15 days.
- Weed and lightly hoe around the base to keep the soil airy.
- After 45–55 days, you can start harvesting the fruit – pick when the fruit is still young, about 7–10cm long.
